It's been a long day.
Just one of the shots from Kumar and Carrie's wedding that i shot at Cley Mill on the bank holiday weekend. This shot seemed to suit the B&W conversion and the children's faces create a great image.
Lilly
this was the last of the Easter lilly's that sushma got. They were so beautiful that i had to capture it before it's demise.
Reflecting on the journey.
Thanks to the ash cloud from Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Icleland we had to drive back from Spain. After 1900 miles of driving through Spain and France it was a relief to get on the ferry and begin the final leg of the journey home.
Pueblo Blanco.
A fantastic view of Casares from across the valley. It was quite a cloudy day but an interesting town, with an amazing cemetery next to the churn on the top of the hill.
Freedom.
Finally we get a holiday, Asha and Harry were so keen to get in the pool, even if they were a little jaded.

12/52 Happy Birthday
My Mum and Dad celebrating my Dad's 70th birthday at Guido's restaurant in Amersham. A really enjoyable day and weekend.
11/52 It's been a tough day.
Having got in from work I found Asha and Kumar having a well deserved rest on the settee. Asha was tired from her swimming lesson and Kumar from looking after her and Harry for the day.
10/52 Sunset over Hyde Heath.
Sunsets at my parents' house are always special but this one caught my eye on Mothers Day. I suppose i should have posted a picture of my mum but i'm sure she'll like this shot too.

9/52 - 10 minutes alone.
I left Harry and Asha to their own devices for 10 minutes this afternoon. This is how i found Asha - covered in chocolate milk powder. Suffice to say Harry was oblivious to what his sister had got up to - he was watching tv !

8/52 An evening tipple.
I was looking to get a shot for a competition entitled "Song titles" but chose something else in the end. It's quite obvious what this would have been isn't it?
Anyway i was using the 24mm-105mm L and was quite pleased with the results, on reflection though i should have cleaned the bottle opener before shooting.

7/52 Going underground
This scene caught my eye whilst returning from a meal in Norwich where we'd parked in The Forum underground car park. Some nice leading lines and a bold '-3' on the wall. It looked ok in colour but i thought it had more impact in B&W.

6/52 Collecting eggs at Kumar and Carrie's.
Harry and Asha were rather happy when they discovered two eggs laid by Kumar and Carrie's chickens. I think Asha was the happiest, it looks like Harry had let her have the biggest egg! I love the cheeky little smile on her face.

5/52 Blue tit on the feeder.
I was messing with the 55mm-250mm IS, trying to get some shots of the birds on the feeder. This was the best i could get. There were 3 problems with this shot, firstly the birds were too damned quick, secondly they were only going to the feeder at the back which meant they were obstructed by the metalwork and finally the light wasn't too good. (Well those are my excuses!)

4/52 Fishery lock.
A very cold Saturday morning saw me trying to get out with the camera for 20 minutes. I joined the the Grand Union by Fishery lock. I got the usual duck pictures, nothing special, saw a Kingfisher but it was too fast and far off to get a picture. On the way back to the car i took this shot of one of the barges. I decided to give it an aged look but i think i need to add some graininess to it to carry it off properly.

3/52 Lone rider.

One of the hardest tasks during the snow was not starting the car or getting the stock to the shop but trying to find a sledge for Harry. Everywhere had sold out and these things were like gold dust. Luckily Mum heard on the Amersham grapevine that there was to be a delivery at one of the toy shops and manged to get one for H. Well it was better than the bin lid that i had given him to use - it didn't work at all.

2/52 Snow at Hemel Hempstead station.

As so few people were travelling during the winter weather i decided to get the camera and Manfrotto down to the station. I got a few funny looks as the odd brave soul passed in front of the lens but the results were worth it i think. A 20 second exposure on this from memory.

1/52 Ashridge woods.

A nice walk on a cold sunny morning in Ashridge was just what the kids wanted! Well Harry was ok but little Asha was having non of it. Even trying to tell her we'd see the 'rein'deer didn't do the trick. There was no way she was going to wear gloves and a hat. Eventually, after almost freezing to death, she decided to put her gloves on but only after she insisted on being carried for the rest of the way.
